DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Performs oncology nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with standard nursing practices. Mixes, prepares and administers chemotherapy. • Prepares equipment and aides physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients. Maintains emergency kits, orders IV pumps and maintains log. • Observes, records and reports patient’s conditions and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians. Dispenses medications as directed. • Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Performs triage as necessary. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment. Handles patient telephone calls, providing answers when appropriate. • Maintains and reviews patients records, charts and other pertinent information. Posts test and examination results. Marks appropriate billing codes as needed. • Maintains exam rooms and treatment area for necessary supplies and materials. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares and orders medical supplies including drugs and maintains and tracks inventory levels. • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. • Orders/runs lab tests as requested while maintaining CLIA compliance. Provides routine equipment maintenance. • Acts as technical resource to Medical Assistants and other clinic staff. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Greets, instructs, directs, schedules and gathers insurance information for patients and visitors. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. Work is performed in reception area. Involves frequent contact with patients. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Contact involves dealing with sick people. JOB TITLE:   Nuclear Medicine Tech

REPORTS TO:   Radiation Dept Head

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: By or under the direction of the requesting physician or the reading physician, perform ordered examinations of patients for the purpose of assisting in the diagnosis of patient illness. Functions include, but are not limited to: •Operating Positron Emission Tomography equipment. •Performing hot lab responsibilities. •Interviewing patients, •Following regulations established by the NRC, Utah Division of Radiation Control (DRC), Utah Cancer Specialists •Completing all forms pertaining to the patient's exam, recording data, and forwarding appropriate materials to Radiologist upon completion of exam. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 1.Performs ordered examinations of appropriate anatomical regions in accordance with accepted standards of practice and protocols of Utah Cancer Specialists and / or reading physician. 2.Maintains technical competency through continued edcation and participation in company sponsored training programs. 3.Under guidelines of set practices, administers contrast agents and/or radiopharmaceuticals according to site-specific protocols. 4.Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and reviews/explains the procedure to the patient. 5.Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent team members. 6.Maintains a clean environment inside and outside of injection and scan rooms. 7.Completes necessary administrative tasks. i.e.: time reports, billing, QA, etc. 8.Follows quality assurance guidelines and maintains patient confidentiality. 9.Cooperates with facility healthcare professionals and complies with facility policies/procedures. 10.Complies with all safety policies and regulations including radiation safety. 11.Maintains current licensure and permits to practice. 12.Performs additional duties as required. Excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation in order to accurately input patient information. Skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine. Ability to speak in a clear and concise manner. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. Prefer one to two years work experience, preferable in a medical office setting.
